Prayer Works!

The Power of Prayer

I grew up in church, so I’ve always had the opportunity to learn about God’s love, his grace and his mercy. I learned how to lean and depend on God when any given situation was out of my hands. I always pray that God will keep me wrapped in his arms of protection and to teach and guide me to do his will.

I learned that the power of prayer works. When life seems so bleak and hopeless, God’s word spreads light over that darkness and brings hope to us that may have otherwise given up. Luke 18:1 says that man should always pray. It’s not hard to understand why man should always pray. Just stop, look and listen around you. Seen and unseen danger is lurking round about us every day. Prayer gives us hope when we’re hopeless. When we pray we are giving God authority to rule over our lives, so when we encounter danger, God is a refuge in the time of danger. God is a comforter when we have lost loved ones and are grief stricken. God is whatever we need him to be. That intimacy with God gives us an assurance that he is right there with us when we need him.

Exercising your belief in God, gives God the authority to exercise his grace and mercy in your lives. The more you call on the name of Jesus, the more power you have to overcome whatever is blocking your way.

Remember to put God first in whatever you do. Just when you need him, he’ll be right there. Keep Praying! Keep Believing! Because prayer works!

My Car Stalled! Ignition Switch Going Bad

Malfunctioning Ignition Switch

There are many reasons why a car may stall. It could be a reason as simple as being low on gas or the car runs hot or some other minor to major repairs needing to be done.

Well, because I experienced my car stalling on me, thinking that maybe it had run hot, I bought some anti-freeze and poured that in, but that didn’t work.  Don’t laugh! I’m a woman and I don’t know a lot about car repairs.

I sat in a hot car for about 30 to 40 minutes trying to start a car that wasn’t going to start. Eventually it did start, but I didn’t know why it stalled in the first place and at the same time, I was puzzled that it did eventually start. But, above it all, I made it home without incident.

After not having transportation for about a week, I had a mechanic to come to repair whatever was causing my car to stall. Well, to my surprise, his first attempt to start the car actually worked. How did he get it to start? Come to find out, my ignition switch was malfunctioning and was causing my car to stall.

How To Get Your Car Started Again

I wanted to share with you a temporary fix if this should ever happen to you. I can’t guarantee that this will work for you, because I am not a mechanic.

Before calling Triple A, try this:

First you turn the key in the ignition switch to a position where your dashboard lights will light up. When you see the dashboard lit up, turn the key to start your car, and there you have it! Your car should start and you can go on your way.

Remember though, if your dashboard lights don’t light up, your car will not start. As I’m sure you already know, your ultimate fix will be to get your ignition switch replaced.

I hope that this information will help you if you find yourself with a malfunctioning ignition switch.

My Favorite Bible Verse

My Favorite Bible Verse

Out of all the bible verses that I could have chosen as my favorite, I chose Psalm 51:20.  This bible verse has been a road map that has guided me through times in my life when I could have grown up without any morals or ethics.  But, thank God, this bible verse is a prayer that I’ve used continuously throughout my life to ask God to keep me on the right path to do his will.

Why?  Because I want to be more Christlike in my everyday walk.  I want to be more like Christ.

My favorite bible verse is quoted from the King James Version of the bible as follows:

Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me.   Psalm 51:20
